Excel Reporting using DX-Fusion

Can DX-Fusion be used to export data from Tally into MS-Excel ?

Several users have raised this question. Though, this could had been implemented in DX-Fusion, we choose NOT to do it as the primary objective of developing this tool was to get Tally data in relational database (RDBMS) format.

PS: Excel is NOT a relational database management system.

However, as Excel is commonly used for reporting and there is lot of demand by users to add support for it, we are providing an alternative solution using which users can get the data into MS-Excel.

Pre-requisities
1) MS-Query (which generally gets installed when you install MS-Office)
2) DX-Fusion utility

Remarks:- It is  presumed that you have already downloaded and installed DX-Fusion utility. It is also presumed that you have already exported data from Tally into MS-Access.

Steps to get data in MS-Excel
1) Download and unzip the sample query file.

Remarks:-
This is a simple text-file which contains the SQL SELECT-Statements. The file must have extension as DQY.

2) Double-click on the dqy-file.

Remarks:-

a) This will retrieve data from MS-Access (tally.mdb file) into MS-Excel
b) Read the comments given in the dqy file for more information. You can use Notepad to view/edit the same.

Export Multiple Companies data into single database

DX-Fusion supports transfer of data from multiple companies in Tally ERP 9 into a single database.

Each company in Tally ERP 9 is assigned a unique Guid which is stored in field named COMPANYGUID. DX-Fusion uses this COMPANYGUID field in the various masters and voucher tables, which allows you to identify the records for a specific Company.

This way you can generate MIS reports based on one or more companies data.
